Happy to share with you a fresh and friendly travel guide to have around during your stay in Alicante
If postcards were alive, Alicante would be one of them. Visiting this beautiful city for the first time is exciting. We remember our first! Mediterranean breezes, streets full of life, golden beaches, and a spirit that brings the holiday spirit out of the grumpiest of all.
For youngsters, packed with vibrancy and a sheer will to discover as much as they can, Alicante has the secrets: culture, adventure, nightlife and relaxation.
You ask for it. The city delivers. Big time!
Our hotel is the ideal home base, located just steps away from the enchanting Albufereta Beach, 10 minutes from the city centre, and close to public transportation. That is very cool indeed. Now, let’s dive into some of the most exciting things you should do on your first trip to Alicante.
1. Sunrise and sunset at Albufereta Beach
Just a couple of steps away from us is the wonderful Albufereta Beach, an ideal place to start your Alicante experience. Waves that sing morning breezes and the Sun kissing the sea like a stranger in the night’s sky. You will not forget this experience. Most of our young travellers love it because of the peaceful mornings and vibrant afternoons.
Take gorgeous photos and share them with friends and family on Instagram, Facebook, or Threads.
2. Climb or ride a bike up to Santa Barbara Castle
No visit to Alicante is complete without a trip to Castillo de Santa Barbara, an ancient fortress that overlooks the city. You can walk up the hill and test your endurance. For more comfort, you could opt for the elevator. Save more energy for the beach.
At the top, well, let us just say the views are worth it. The sea, the marina and the city will come to life in a completely new light.
3. Explore the Old Town for personality: El Barrio awaits!
Ay! Ay! Ay! El Barrio is great for those who are sticklers for narrow streets, tiny cafes, handmade and yummy gelato, and a nightlife scene that goes on for ages. We recommend Calle Labradores, Paca de Sant Cristofol, and the Santa Cruz neighbourhood. Get there, get lost, and bring back some memories. It is the ideal place to have no plan and wing it.
4. Spend an evening at the Marina
The marina in Alicante is simply magical. The night becomes a beacon of lights reflecting on the water, music echoing from terraces and bars. Enjoy a cerveza, a wine or a cocktail. You are on vacation. Live and eat well. We recommend the local seafood. Stunning!
5. Take a trip to Tabarca island
You can discover a lost paradise by taking a board trip to Isla de Tabarca, Spain’s smallest inhabited island. This is where you will find clear waters to dive in and snorkel around. There are seafood restaurants and great places to photograph. Some take in the scenery and lose contact with their digital selves.
Number 6 for the heat: shopping in Alicante
Take a stroll down Alicante’s most iconic promenade, where you will find street artists, cute shops, gelato, coffee, drinks, food, and live music. Evening walk, shop by day, it doesn’t even matter. Relax, enjoy, and take in the Mediterranean charm
For first-time travellers, Alicante is a Mediterranean secret, a collection of experiences that linger on. And at our hotel, you’re perfectly placed to enjoy it all.
